Dave Steinberg says I enjoyed the Vanguard Series very much. Saddened to hear of its demise. Collecting Star Trek books is a hobby for me and Vanguard is among them. Sure hope you can come up with a new series or that you’ll just keep writing.
Thanks very much! However, Vanguard didn’t really suffer a “demise.” It was always intended to be a series of limited duration, though the exact number of books was never set in stone. Indeed, we had to convince our editor and CBS Licensing that it was “time” to bring it to its planned, proper conclusion.
Meanwhile, I intend to keep writing Trek books as long as Pocket will have me. 🙂
A new Star Trek novel is published every month. There is no set schedule so far as which series gets a new book for which month. You can see a list of recent and upcoming releases by visiting the Memory Beta fan site: http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/New_and_Future_Releases
I found your book “The Last World War” and am looking forward to reading it, but not before I find a copy of “Counterstrike: The Last World War 2”. I like to have all the books in a series before I settle in for a good long read. I have been unable to find it in any of my usual haunts, and am beginning to wonder if it has in fact been published yet. I only find reference to the title when looking you up on WIKI. Was it published and are there any other books in the series?
Good Grief! While browsing the rest of this site, what do I see? A listing for Counterstrike! I kept looking for it to be listed right after the first book. I guess it is time for new glasses (grin)
Sorry about that. Most of the titles/etc. listed here are in reverse chronological order of publication, but you’ve given me cause to rethink that maybe ordering everything by a “series” title might not be a bad idea.
To answer your other question, there are only the two books, and they’re all you need. There is one other short story, “Texas Pride,” but it’s not readily available at the moment, and is not critical to reading the two books. It’s more of a :”side tale,” set during the events of the first book. I’m hoping to make it more easily available as an e-Book at some point in the not too distant future.
Hi Dayton! BIG fan of the Star Trek stuff you’ve written. You and David Mack are my two favorite Trek writers. Thanks for keeping the Trek world alive for fans like myself who can never get enough Trek.(Though I’m not a fan of the JJ Abrams reboot stuff lol)I am particularly fond of the Star Trek: S.C.E/Star Trek: Corps of Engineers series and have read all 66 books as well as the 8 that came after. Will there be any more in this series?
I don’t know if there will be anymore Corps of Engineers e-Books, at least as part of an ongoing series. However, Pocket is starting to ramp up their e-Book originals for Star Trek, so it’s possible we may revisit the da Vinci gang at some point. 🙂
I just finished star trek vangaurd I enjoyed it very much. THANK YOU..
