Talking about Apes over at UnderDiscussion!

undergopherlogoA couple of weeks ago, the gang over at UnderDiscussion managed to lure me yet again into the lair of the UnderGopher, so that we might once more talk about all matter of geeky things.

This time around? It was a madhouse. A madhouse, I tell you, as we took a journey to the Planet of the Apes. We cover a lot of ground in just about an hour’s time, starting with the classic original 1968 film–nay, masterpiece–and continue on up through the most recent film, 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and next year’s hotly anticipated follow-up, War for the Planet of the Apes.

Along the way, we discuss the sequels to the original movie as well as (briefly) the two 1970s television series. We also spend a bit of time lamenting the ill-advised 2001 remake, before gushing over the newest attempt to reimagine and reinvigorate the venerable franchise. Long story short? We’re amp’d up for next year’s flick. Bring that shit right on.

Anyway, the edited show is now available for your listening and downloading pleasure. Have a gander, whydontcha:

UnderDiscussion #213: Planet of the Apes Chat with Dayton Ward

It was a fun way to wile away an afternoon, and I tip my hat and give many thanks to Kevin, Dustin, and Brady for inviting me once more back to play. Here’s hoping we can find an excuse to do it again soon!
