Finally, we’re all back to the future!

After years of false internet memes, the date and time has finally arrived.

That’s right! Today is the day that Marty McFly and his girlfriend, Jennifer Parker, travel with Doctor Emmett Brown from October 26th, 1985, to the future, arriving in Hill Valley, California on the afternoon of October 21st, 2015.

Think about it: From this day forward, all the events of the entire Back to the Future film trilogy take place in our past.

This is both cool and a little sad, and perhaps even a bit of a relief, considering the fashion choices postulated for 2015 in Back to the Future Part II.

I mean, wow.

Just as the real world moved past such milestones as Judgment Day, the launch of the Jupiter 2 on its journey to Alpha Centauri, and the Moon being blasted out of orbit following a nuclear explosion, so to will the legend of Martin S. McFly fade into a history that never was. Next up? Replicants and the Tyrell Corporation aren’t looking too good, and I don’t think the Navy is building a seaQuest submarine.

Oh, well.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ll probably be jamming a bit to Huey Lewis and the News and ZZ Top today.

Heavy, eh?
