With all the stuff leading up to Kevin’s and my journey to and from this year’s Starfest Convention, I somehow missed the latest offering from my pal John S. Drew over at The Batcave Podcast.
John is continuing his retrospective of the classic 1960s Batman series starring Adam West and Burt Ward, and for this latest outing he’s joined by editor/author Jim Beard, who counts among his credits the Sequart collection of essays examining the series, Gotham City 14 Miles, as they take a look back at the two-part story that introduces us to Bat-villain King Tut: “The Curse of Tut” and “The Pharaoh’s in a Rut.”
From John’s write-up:
“William Omaha McElroy has once again reverted to his evil alter-ego, the malevolent monarch of crime, King Tut. He has created a giant Sphinx which emits his royal decrees to the citizens of Gotham from Gotham Central Park. One of those decrees is the death of Batman and Robin. But what is his ultimate goal in his latest caper? Can Batman figure it out before it’s too late for him and Bruce Wayne?”
Tune in to see what John and Jim thought of these episodes: The Curse of Tut/The Pharaoh’s in a Rut.
