In case you haven’t already pre-ordered all of The Fall books…

…I’m just going to leave this right here.

All five books comprising Star Trek: The Fall, the mini-series coming…um…this fall from Pocket Books, are available for pre-order. If you’re looking to get these and you’ve got a local/independent bookseller in your town, check with them and they should be able to place an advance order for you (the titles are listed below, yo). For example, I’m going to pimp a couple of stores in my area:

Reader’s World – Lee’s Summit, MO

Dog Eared Books – Independence, MO

Otherwise, The Behemoths also have them listed:

Revelation and Dust by David R. George III, “starring” members of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine cast (September)

The Crimson Shadow by Una McCormack, focusing on Picard and Garak (October)

A Ceremony of Losses by David Mack (November)

The Poisoned Chalice by James Swallow, focusing on Riker and the crew of the U.S.S. Titan (December)

Peaceable Kingdoms, by me, “starring” Picard and the Enterprise-E (January 2014)

A WORD OF WARNING: I’m seeing ad copy that reads some flavor of the following:

“An original Star Trek novel, this is the final part of a five-book story arc that takes place over a sixty-day period, but it is not necessary to read each novel in order to follow the storyline, which involves all aspects of The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine universes.”

(bolding mine)

This is not an accurate statement. Though events in some of the books will take place at or near the same time, reading the series out of order will definitely spoil certain key plot points. My book in particular will be building upon plot threads and nuggets from the other four books, and picks up pretty much where Jim Swallow’s book leaves off. So, you know….proceed with caution, and all that.

Also, if you’ve not had a chance to read them, check out the three articles recently posted about the series:

And there you have it. We now return you to your lives, already in progress.

  1. Thanks for the updates, Dayton. I cannot wait, (well…I guess, I’ll have to) for this series! That interview with David was great. And I liked the little sneak-peek, he was able to share. God! Everybody is excited for this! We know it’s gonna be thrilling, as-well-as a turning-point for everything Trek. I’m glad you’re a part of it… Was it easier writing the end of the series, or-tougher? And-what do you think of our new DS9? I like what I’ve seen, so far… I still can’t believe CBS/Simon & Schuster let David blowup the old one!! That was a helluva book!
    Take care, 😊

    1. It was tougher for me to write the last book, because there’s a lot of information to keep track of, and it’s easy to miss little details here and there. That, and the other writers were in various stages of writing their own books at the same time I was working, so something I thought was going to go one way might’ve ended up going differently after one of the other folks decided the new approach/whatever worked better. So, it’s a matter of keeping things in synch, while pressing ahead toward your own deadline, etc.

Lay it on me.
