Because, WHY THE HELL NOT?
I was trolling ThinkGeek the other day, looking for a way to spend most or all of my banked Geek Points, when I happened across this bit of whimsy:
That’s right, folks! The good ThinkGeek folk have taken the easiest competitive game in the known universe–to include its rather nerdy expansion rules–and created a low-impact aerobic version! As they say in their ad copy, “Why should you use your fingers when you can use dice?”
EXACTLY.
The set comes with seven six-sided dice. Five of the sides contain a pictogram of one of the game’s possible “moves,” with the sixth depicting a “roll again” icon. The dice come in their own little bag emblazoned with the “For newbies” version of the rules, and there’s even a card with the rules included.
What? Rules? Really?
– Scissors cut Paper
– Paper covers Rock
– Rock crushes Lizard
– Lizard poisons Spock
– Spock smashes Scissors
– Scissors decapitates Lizard
– Lizard eats Paper
– Paper disproves Spock
– Spock vaporizes Rock
And as it always has:
– Rock crushes Scissors
Of course, I bought a set! As with other dice games in my arsenal, I suspect that the actual playing and outcome of any RSPLS matches will be drastically enhanced with the introduction of alcohol. I’ll let you know.
Get on the bandwagon, yo: ThinkGeek: Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock Dice Set
