Novel Spaces – “My Kid, the Writer?”

It’s the 17th, which means it’s my turn in the spotlight over at the Novel Spaces blog!

This time around, I do the “proud daddy” thing as I talk about my oldest daughter’s budding interest in writing. It’s something in which she’s expressed interest in during the past couple of years, and though I’m not pushing her one way or the other, I do enjoy the banter we share as I watch her work at it. Of course, she’s mostly just learning to write at the moment, rather than, you know, write, but she’s able to spin a story on demand when we ask her, so there’s definitely a fired-up imagination in that still-growing head of hers.

Meanwhile, I’m figuring out how I can pull a James Patterson, and sub-contract my current novel to her.

Check out my latest monthly babbling, if you’re keen to do so: Novel Spaces – My Kid, the Writer?

Enjoy (I hope)!

if they still make kids write stories in school, that imagination will come in handy.

I don’t know about “making” them, but Addy has the opportunity to participate in a “writing workshop” in her Kindergarten class, and I know there are creative writing classes in the elementary grades. I talked to a group of students taking such a class last year. :)

Lay it on me.
