So, are you local, and looking for something to do today? Look no further!
Today is the annual Free State Comicon, a one-day show which has taken place the past several years in Lawrence, Kansas. We’ve attended the con as guests a couple of times, and con organizer Craig Klotz has invited us out again this year.
Craig always manages to corral a pretty decent assortment of talent for this show. Some of the bigger names from the local/regional roster of creators include Dennis Hopeless, Alex Grecian, and Ande Parks, to name a few. Be sure to check out the full list at the con’s website.
The show runs from 10am-5pm today at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Lawrence, Kansas. If you’re in the area, come check out the happs. Maybe we’ll see you there!
What I wouldn’t give to be there right now. This sounds truly awesome.
It was a small con, but active throughout the day. Lots of foot traffic, lots of nice people.
Cool! I’ll be there! Um… (pauses to figure drive time from Wilmington, NC, to Lawrence, KS, in ’68 VW beetle) … In spirit. If I start now I’ll be there in time for next year’s. Can I stay on your couch?
