ReDeus: Hey, it’s a real book!

Check out what the book fairy brung me!

My first copies of ReDeus: Divine Tales arrived in yesterday’s mail, and you know what? They’re pretty gosh-dang gorgeous. The pics of the cover art shared to this point are wonderful, but pictures never seem to compare to having the real thing in your hands, and this is no exception.

Those of you who’ve been keeping up with my updates about this project know that Divine Tales came together in just a little over a month’s time, starting from the point Bob Greenberger, Aaron Rosenberg and Paul Kupperberg decided to invite other writers to submit stories for the anthology celebrating the “universe” they had created, and ending with the notification that printed copies of the book had come back from the printers. That’s something akin to light speed in the vast publishing world, but the guys pulled it off in stellar fashion.

ReDeus: Divine Tales from Crazy 8 Press makes its official debut this coming weekend at the Shore Leave convention. If you’re going to the con, be sure to look for the book and get it signed by most of the contributing authors Friday evening at the traditional “Meet the Pros” party. For the rest of us, the book will shortly be available in trade paperback and various e-Book formats. Stay tuned for updates!

Finally, thanks again to Bob, Aaron, and Paul for inviting me to play in their crazy games.

  1. My pleasure, amigo. Really glad you were able to be involved, and happy you’ll be properly represented at ShoreLeave, at least. :)

I wish I could be at the ReDeus panel, but I think there’s plenty of folks there. :)

You were mentioned several times at the panel. Bob said glowing things about your story.

The book went on sale Friday night. Sunday afternoon after the panel, a woman stopped Dave Galanter and myself in the hall to ask us questions about our stories. (Apparently, we tackled similar themes, even had similar conversations in the stories about the nature of faith, albeit in vastly different ways.) She’d managed to read all but the last two stories by Sunday afternoon.

Glad to hear the panel went well, and that the book looks to be well-received so far. It was an interesting challenge, trying to get up to speed for someone else’s creation and turn around a story. Not sure I’d want to do that all the time, but it was fun. :)

Lay it on me.
