“The Coward” on Cyborgs: A Bionic Podcast!

Two weeks? Check! That means it’s time for an all-new, fresh-smellin’ episode of Cyborgs: A Bionic Podcast! Hosts John S. Drew and Paul K. Bisson invite Dr. Arnold T. Blumberg to sit in the third chair as they take a look back at one of the strongest episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man‘s first season, “The Coward.”

From John’s write-up:

“Steve travels to the China border to recover top secret documents from a plane that was downed during World War II. This is a personal mission for Steve as the leader of the mission back then was his own father, Carl Austin, and the government’s position is that Carl abandoned his crew as the plane went down.”

This episode is notable for being the first to establish significant aspects of Steve’s backstory and family. Actress Martha Scott is introduced as Helen Elgin, Steve’s mother. This episode also reveals that Steve has a stepfather, who we’ll meet in the second season “The Bionic Woman” two-parter, and both characters will return in a handful of second and third season episodes, as well as The Bionic Woman spin-off series.

“The Coward” also features George Takei (OG Sulu from Star Trek) in a guest-star role as Chin-Lung, who helps Steve find his way to the crash site.

So, check out John, Paul and Dr. Bloomberg as they revisit the episode: Cyborgs: A Bionic Podcast – “The Coward”

Argh! You grabbed the bite before I corrected the first sentence. Sigh.

Lay it on me.
