Okay, this looks pretty cool.
A new effort from a UK-based outfit called Eaglemoss Collections, Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection is apparently what is called a “part work magazine,” similar–I suppose–to the old Star Trek Fact Files efforts from days past, where each issue can be disassembled and inserted into a notebook with section dividers, and each new issue brings more pages for the various sections. In this case, the focus is on the ships of Star Trek, which each issue devoted to a particu
lar spacefaring vessel. Check it out:
Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection
From the magazine’s website, “Every model comes with a special collector’s magazine that provides an in-depth profile of the ship, with detailed annotations, and a breakdown of the technology on board, its crew and weapons. Exclusive behind the scenes articles reveal how the ship was designed, complete with original design sketches. And there is an informative examination of the shooting model (or models) used by the VFX team, and a history of the ship’s on-screen appearances.”
The first issue of this new magazine covers the U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-D, from Star Trek: The Next Generation, and is packaged with a small die-cast model of the ship! Future issues promise to highlight all the well-known Federation starships and enemy vessels, including fan favorites. Also according to the site, “Members of Star Trek’s original VFX team have provided the original CG models used on the TV shows and movies, allowing the sculptors to achieve an unparalleled degree of detail. In addition to this, for the older ships that were created before CG was available, CBS Studios have opened up the vaults to allow access to photography of the original studio models.”
Awwww, yeah…..
So, if you’re a ship/tech Trekkie, this might be right up your alley. Unfortunately, it’s only available in the UK, so…who’s gonna hook up a Yank brother?

Very sorry to hear that :/
Hmm well there offices in Ringwood are literally 5 mins walk from my house … may be worth a walk up there.
I wouldn’t buy every issue, but I’d definitely want the original series Enterprise and Enterprise-A, and maybe a few others.
