From the marketing copy:
“What if Darth Vader took an active role in raising his son? What if “Luke, I am your father” was just a stern admonishment from an annoyed dad? In this hilarious and sweet comic reimagining, Darth Vader is a dad like any other—except with all the baggage of being the Dark Lord of the Sith.”
Darth Vader and Son, by Jeffrey Brown – Chronicle Books
Damn it, this book is brilliant. I bought it the other day. For my kids. Honest.
“WAAAAAAAH!”
“What’s wrong?”
“Greedo pushed me!”
“Well, did you push him first?”

You’re lucky you have kids — it gives you a built-in cover story when you buy stuff like this.
That said, I loved this book, too.
The only reason I agreed to kids in the first place was so that I’d have reasons to get cool stuff like this, get the cool toys, go to the animated movies, and so on.
Oh, and when they’re old enough….they can mow the lawn.
I don’t have kids, at least, not yet or any that I’m aware of, but there were parts of this book that reminded me of my father when I was a kid. It is, indeed, an awesome book.
I’m just pissed because I didn’t think of such a wonderful idea first.
This book and LEGO Star Wars justify the existence of Star Wars.
If we can add my Darth Vader bottle opener, I’m down with this sentiment.

You know there’s a sequel coming, I hope: Daddy’s Little Princess.
Allyn told me about it today. That’s another quick buy.
