I’m sorry, but if raging fanboys can’t see the uber-cool retro awesomeness to be found in this cover, then I give up on them. Everything about this cover just screams, “SEE? TREK CAN BE FUN! PULL THE STICK OUT, DAMMIT!”

Now, I’ll admit that I haven’t yet had a chance to read the Infestation storyline, but I gotta tell ya: I soooooo want this as a poster.
It’s a great nod to the old Gold Key comics of yesteryear, and reminds me of other cool stuff from days gone by, when seeing such imagery wasn’t immediately accompanied by pronouncements from “real fans” about how “the franchise was doomed.” You know, back when you could have some fun with it:

Damn, but Trek used to be fun. It still can be, if you have the right attitude. I wish more people could remember that.
